The exhibition entitled “Belarus in the canvases Victor Tikhonov“ was opened at the International art studio on May 15 at 19:00 hours. Belarusian artist Viktor Tikhonov who is considered to be significant visual creator of his native country and throughout Europe. He presented the landscapes on 32 large and medium canvases. Works exhibited in the gallery show that the nature is inexhaustible source of inspiration for Tikhonov and his technique signifies the distinctive and powerful artistic expression.

The exhibition was opened by Mr. Sergei Balashchenko, Belarus Embassy Consul in Belgrade, with whose wholehearted support this cultural event was organized.

Opening ceremony was zoomed with the performance of Valjevo Musical High School graduate students in the class of the Professor Sreten Nedic, a trio of accordion: Slobodan Nedic, Nikola Jeftic and Aleksandar Nikolic. They performed Derbenko`s “Spanish dance”.

Viktor Tikhonov in his work pays much attention to the direct impact of man on nature, environment, and to human lives! His entire opus was dedicated to the villages that were abandoned due nuclear disaster in Chernobyl. Viktor Tikhonov is a co-author of the documentary film titled “Sorrow of abandoned villages” dedicated to the subject and visitors of the exhibition also had the opportunity at the opening night to see this film translated into Serbian language.
