An exhibition titled “Contemporary Bulgarian Graphics” was officially opened on June 8 and lasted for a month. Creative graphic scene of Bulgaria was presented by 20 Bulgarian artists who have their 40 works specially prepared for this exhibition at the Studio in Valjevo. The presented graphics artists made by using different techniques: lithography, dry point, etching, aquatint, digital printing.

Professors Desislava Hristova and Svilen Stefanov who are curators and among the authors of the exhibition, pointed out that some of the artists-participants have never worked in the field of graphic arts before, and for that reason this exhibition turned into an unexpected provocation. Even for their own curators the fact is that selected Bulgarian artists belong to different generations, and that they use a variety of different strategies, eroding this exhibition at many levels and produce amazing results.

The opening ceremony started by performance of local Music High School students. Violin duo Vićentijević Jelena and Jovana Lukić played the “Canon Sonata” by Georg Philipp Telemann. Duet Ljubica Milutinović – flute and Strahinja Stefanović – clarinet played Stamitz “Brass Duet” by Stamitz. In the end, the visitors heard the accordion trio: Belušević Nemanja Mitrovic Ivan and Dragan Vasic. They choose to play “Polka” by Bedrich Smetana for this ocassion.
