YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW
The event, which symbolically closed exhibitors season 2014 was a retrospective exhibition of Radovan Trnavac Mića, the creator of the International Art Studio. Retrospective exhibition of Mića`s paintings and objects opened on 23 December and is called “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”. Seventeen paintings and objects of medium and large format created in the period from 1976 to the present were presented to the audience. Several of the exhibited works were created in studios on the docks of New York, where author once lived and worked, while most of artworks originate from his Belgrade atelier. This exhibition presents a certain homage to the retrospective exhibition in Belgrade National Museum that Radovan Trnavac Mića had 2 decades ago. This solo exhibition was organized in 1995 on the occasion of 150 years of Belgrade National Museum existence.
The opening ceremony of Mića`s retrospective exhibition in the Studio had a humanitarian note, bearing in mind that reproductions of one selected work were printed and had author`s personal signature. The posters/reproductions were sold at the opening at a symbolic price of 500.00 dinars. With this actin Studio raised money for buying New Year’s gifts for children who grow up without parental care in Valjevo. Apart from our institution company “Valjevo print” and Studio “Vitez” took part in the organization of this modest humanitarian action. Talented students from the Musical School “Živorad Grbić” performed in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
